To tackle data analysis, it's essential to have a plan in place to establish what data are available, what data trends and patterns exist within existing information collected, what data are missing and how they can be obtained, and how this information can be used to identify strategies that ultimately lead to student success.

Root cause analysis goes deeper than identifying trends and patterns in data - it requires an intentional approach in which a robust team probes into the "why" behind the data and major contributing factors to problems. It is only through this intensive work that we can prevent problems from recurring.
